Good Things and Kindness:
1. Babysitting my younger cousins My cousins, that I don’t see very often, were home from the province. The adults were in the other room catching up with one another, and my cousins and I were together. I was helping take care of them, giving them food and playing with them to keep them entertained. It was a nice opportunity to be able to spend time with them as well as help my aunts take care of them.

2. Helping my relatives clean their house Recently, the Taal Volcano spewed ash into the air, affecting almost the entire region. My cousins live in Cavite, which is not that far from the volcano compared to Metro Manila. Volcanic ash was scattered everywhere and it was all over the place. It was on their roof, in the gutter, in the garage. I helped clean up the mess, sweeping the ashes in the garage and throwing them into the trash can. By doing this, it allowed me to maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment not just for my relatives, but for the people around as well.

3. Helping my grandma walk around My grandma twisted her ankle while walking one day, and this left her foot swollen. She couldn’t walk around without a cane, but as time passed the swelling reduced and she was able to walk a little better. I would hold her while walking in order to keep her weight off her foot. I would help her walk to the market or to church, and I would guide her while walking just in case she didn’t see the puddle in front of her.
